Virtualization with Sun’s VirtualBox; Sun is now owned by Oracle. It’s a free x86 virtualization software available as an Open Source Software, license under GPL. Works well with Microsoft Windows XP, both as a host and a guest OS. Other Operating Systems presently supported are Most MS Windows versions, Linux, Macintosh, OpenBSD, and OpenSolaris. Some personal use of Virtualization for home are to try out software for compatibility and test configurations in the guest OS. It’s easy to restore the guest OS configurations by restoring its snapshots. Here’s the link: virtualbox.org.
Go greener and save paper, only print on paper if necessary. You can use doPDF to print in PDF, convert any Microsoft Office docs, Notepad, websites, etc into PDF files. To convert to PDF format, open a document, click Print and select doPDF. It will ask you where to save the PDF file and when finished, the PDF file will be automatically opened in your default PDF viewer. doPDF installs itself as a virtual PDF printer driver so after a successful installation will appear in your Printers and Faxes list. I’ve used it for months now, running on MS Windows XP, and it helps me go paperless, I store most files in PDF format.
